OREANDA-NEWS. May 5, 2012. Hipposphere, an international horse exhibition, opened at Lenexpo on May 4. The participants cut the symbolic red ribbon right on the manege arranged in the exhibition hall.

Pavel Belov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Physical Education and Sports; Alexander Varenov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Committee for Agribusiness and Fishing; Alexander Timchenko, General Director of Rosplemkonzavod; Alla Polzunova, Vice President of the Russian Trotter Breeding Association; and Larisa Smetanina, Head of the Exhibition Department of ExpoForum, enjoyed the privilege to open the fourteenth exhibition.

Mr. Varenov noted the positive tendency in the project development, “The geography of participants expands and the number of visitors grows every year.”

Mr. Timchenko mentioned that the exhibition had every reason to be one of the leading Russian horse-breeding projects as its stimulating effect on sector development can scarcely be exaggerated.

This year Hipposphere is organized by ExpoForum. “When composing the exhibition portfolio of Lenexpo, we decided to keep this project which attracts numerous visitors but is extremely complex in terms of organization,” explained Ms. Smetanina. The exhibition will be held in Lenexpo's pavilions till 2014 and then move to a new congress and exhibition center constructed by ExpoForum on Peterburgskoye Highway. It is supposed to be one of the largest complexes in the Northwestern Russia.

Ms. Polzunova stressed the relevance of three Oryol trotters on the manege, “Troika is a traditional symbol of Russia. The exhibition will demonstrate the best breeds our country is so proud of.”
