Noted as most important results of nature conservation activities of JSC “Yenisei TGC (TGC-13)” (part of LLC “Siberian Generating Company” group of companies) following 2011 results is reduction of inorganic dust gross emissions at Krasnoyarsk CHP-1 by 791.8 t annually as well as a 23 % increase in ash and slag wastes involvement into the economic cycle as compared to 2010.

A report on the interim results of JSC “Yenisei TGC (TGC-13)” environmental program implementation was delivered at the round-table session by Head of the Environmental Protection Unit of the power industry company Dmitry Starodubtsev.

JSC “Yenisei TGC (TGC-13)” is the largest company regionally, ensuring satisfaction of 84% of the industrial complex and population demand for thermal energy and producing a vast amount of electric energy for the territory needs. Due to the production process specificity, the company’s activities negatively affect the environment. Fully aware of the adverse environmental effect risks, the company has assumed a series of obligations to minimize them. Adopted within the company is an Environmental Policy setting forth the main intentions and activity aspects in the field of environmental protection.

In 2011, the company in total (including all the nine branches operating in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia) spent on nature conservation measures 174 mln RUB. This sum is inclusive of the 101 mln RUB having been allocated for nature conservation measures by the branches located in the city of Krasnoyarsk (Krasnoyarsk CHP-1, CHP-2, CHP-3 and Krasnoyarsk Heating Network). Out of these funds measures were taken included in the “Krasnoyarsk City Environmental Safety Integrated Program for 2009 – 2011.” The critical items on the program are: modernization of battery cyclone BTsU k/a No 10, 11 at Krasnoyarsk CHP-1, the stage of construction of industrial and storm effluent treatment works at Krasnoyarsk CHP-2, construction of a fish protection structure at Krasnoyarsk CHP-2, reclamation of the ash-dump Section No. 2 at Krasnoyarsk CHP-1.

Apart from the above expenditures, fixed capital investments aimed at environmental protection within the scope of works for construction of Power Unit No. 1 of Krasnoyarsk CHP-3 amounted to 611 mln RUB. It is out of those funds that one carried out construction of Phase 2 of the industrial and storm effluent treatment works and construction of the discharge water diffusing outlet, the fish protection structure, the electric filter and reconstruction of the ash-dump Section No. 2.

One of the critical results of the power industry company environmental program implementation in 2011 was reduction of inorganic dust gross emissions by 791.8 t annually due to modernization of battery cyclone BTsU k/a No. 10, 11 at Krasnoyarsk CHP-1.

Another important achievement of the year was increase in the volume of ash and slag wastes involvement into the economic cycle with the aim of such wastes noxious environmental impact reduction. Thus, in 2011 JSC “Yenisei TGC (TGC-13)” production branches delivered for usage in construction industry 41,496 t of ash and slag wastes, which is 7,792 t (23 %) more than in 2010.

In 2012, the power industry company plans to proceed with environmental projects execution, inter alia – within the framework of the Krasnoyarsk city integrated program. The current year priority measures include: modernization of battery cyclones BTsU k/a No. 9 and No 14 at Krasnoyarsk CHP-1, which will enable further reduction of inorganic dust gross emissions by 1,238.15 t annually, continuation of construction of industrial and storm effluent treatment works at Krasnoyarsk CHP-2, performance of capital and current repairs of gas-cleaning equipment, continuation of works for involvement of ash and slag wastes involvement into the economic cycle as secondary material resources.

All the said nature conservation measures are taken out of the company’s proprietary funds within the framework of scheduled production programs.
