OREANDA-NEWS. June 13, 2012. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company became a primary sponsor of IX (summer) federal business conference “Agricultural Holdings of Russia” which took place in Moscow and was devoted to the first results of 2011-2012 agricultural year and the development prospects of agricultural sector.

Over 110 people from 20 regions and several foreign countries took part in the conference: owners and senior executives of major agricultural holdings and companies, providers of services and resources for agriculture, private investors, sectoral and financial analytics.

The conference participants discussed the yield capacity forecasts for the year 2012 and the prospects of agriculture markets development in the forthcoming season, the current condition of capital markets and its impact on the agricultural projects cost and financing availability, and also touched on a topic of possible consequences of Russia’s accession to the WTO and membership in the Customs Union. Agricultural holdings’ senior executives appreciated the business climate of the agricultural sector, shared current investment projects of their companies, risk factors of agricultural investment, and major agribusiness development strategies.

Delyara Sangadzhieva, Head of the Agricultural Insurance Department of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company, reported on the issues related to agricultural insurance in 2012. Mrs. Sangadzhieva particularly noted that the conditions of current state support are not sufficient for the maintenance of the villagers’ financial soundness, while “pseudo insurance” is still prospering at the market. The report evoked a wide response of the conference participants and prepared the ground for further constructive discussion.

Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has been working in agricultural insurance sector for over 9 years. The company specialists developed special insurance programs aimed at protecting the interests of Russian agricultural producers. At year-end 2011, the premium of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company on agricultural insurance amounted to approximately 814 mln rubles which is 49 % more than for the similar period in 2010.
