OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2012. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov personally supervises the construction of medical diagnostic building of the Okhmatdyt National Children's Specialized Hospital so the Prime Minister has come to the hospital to make sure that all work on the modernization underway in accordance with schedules and with due quality.

Extensions of the Ohmatdyt began last year. Nowadays the construction of a new medical-diagnostic complex hospital is in progress. In connection with that the Hospital for the period of construction and reconstruction of can not stop the operation, modernization of the Ohmatdyt carried out in stages.

The Government set out to create a children's medical center of world-class, where will be given assistance, which previously hasn’t been provided in Ukraine. As a result of reconstruction the Ohmatdyt will be a modern clinic with a total of 750 beds. According to the project the total area of modern medical-diagnostic complex Ohmatdyt will be 66.7 thousand square meters and construction cost equal to almost 1.78 billion UAH. The hospital will provide modern high-tech medical care for different profiles (neurosurgery, oncohematology, surgery infants, bone marrow transplantation, etc.).

The Government welcomes public participation in monitoring the progress of construction. At the same time totally unacceptable and immoral speculation in the media that allegedly preparing for Euro 2012 in Ukraine financed from funds allocated for the construction of a new building of the Ohmatdyt. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov denied these allegations.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Government guarantees the timely and full funding of the construction of new facilities in the health sector in Ukraine has already built five perinatal centers. On Thursday, Prime Minister opens the sixth center in Dnepropetrovsk. Within 2-3 years new technologies perinatal medicine should be available in each area.

Okhmatdyt National Children's Specialized Hospital - the only medical facility of IV level in Ukraine a total capacity of 620 beds in 14 cases in which PHC is provided medical assistance to children in 29 pediatric areas.
