OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2012. Belarus-based OJSC International Reserve Bank has been purchased by Belarusian retailer Eurotorg Ltd (Evroopt trademark), several source in Belarus’ banking sector told.

The bank and its new owners are now busy preparing an press-release to make an official announcement of the deal, the bank’s top managers told reporters.

International Reserve Bank was registered on February 25, 2002. The four shareholders are European companies.

On January 1, 2010 the National Bank of Belarus revoked the license of International Reserve Bank for taking retail deposits, opening and maintaining individual accounts.

The reason for the revocation is the failure of the bank to meet the capital adequacy rate.

Eurotorg Ltd is a large retail network in Belarus with around 70 outlets all over the country.
