OREANDA-NEWS. June 27, 2012. A corporate information system (CIS) has been implemented at FSUE Rosmorport. A standardized accounting, tax and asset accounting system (based on Microsoft Dynamics AX) has been implemented at the central office in Moscow and at 14 company branches conducting business in 54 sea ports across Russia. This project was completed together with GMCS.

Along with the system implementation, successful measures were taken to ensure that CIS is fail-proof and the company has its own technical support staff. Far Eastern branches have their very own technical support center. Currently, the company is working on forming analogous centers on the basis of the Northwest, Azovo-Chernomorsky and Azov basin branches.

FSUE Rosmorport is planning on developing a management accounting system (on the basis of IBM Cognos BI business analysis, implementing “Budgeting” systems, “Port duties” and a human resource management system) in the near future. It is crucial to use a standardized corporate information system so that management can optimally distribute the company ’s resources, make quick decisions and effectively plan the company’s long term development (and boost the sea industry as a whole).

FSUE Rosmorport - a federal state unitary enterprise (FSUE) under the ownership of the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency. The Government of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Federal Property Management and the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency act as the company’s owner. Rosmorport functions as a commercial entity for managing federal property in Russia’s ports. One of the company ’s main tasks is ensuring safe sea travel. Rosmorport commissions and manages sites and technical port infrastructure systems: hydro-technical structures, canals, bodies of water, ensures sea travel safety, icebreaking, services auxiliary navy and other sites, implements federal target programs for developing sea transport and port infrastructure site construction and reconstruction in the Russian Federation.
