OREANDA-NEWS. July 03, 2012. Transaero Airlines, Russia’s  second-largest carrier, after being named under the  process of liberalization of air transportation between Russia and Italy  a designated carrier on the Moscow - Rome route operated its first-ever scheduled flight from  Moscow Vnukovo airport to Fiumicino – Leonardo da Vinci airport in Rome.

Transaero was pleased with the number of passengers on  the first flight from Moscow to Rome demonstrating the  need for additional capacity on the route.   To perform the inaugural flight Transaero even operated a Boeing 777  aircraft with a larger seating capacity.

Initially  Transaero’s flights  UN399/400 between Moscow and Rome will be operated five times a week  (except Mondays and Tuesdays) under the following schedule.  Departure from Moscow  at 9:15 am, arrival in Rome  at 10:50 am.  Departure from Rome at 11:40 am, arrival in Moscow at 5:10 pm.  All times local.

From September 24, 2012, the service will  be offered daily.

On a large scale Boeing 737 aircraft with two-class  configuration including Business and Economy classes of services will be  operated on the MoscowRome route.

This  is the first step in increasing Transaero Airlines presence in the Italian  airline market.  Thus on June 28, 2012,  the company launches scheduled flights from Moscow  to Venice as well as from St.   Petersburg to Rome and Milan.  On June 30, 2012, Transaero starts operations  on the MoscowMilan route.
