OREANDA-NEWS. July 10, 2012. ARMADA JSC  (MICEX-RTS: ARMD) hereby announces that its subsidiary ARMADA SOFT has won a public tender held by the Blood Center of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency and continues the project to develop a unified information database for 73 units of Russia’s blood service in 63 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. This project is part of a large-scale Program to Develop Voluntary Blood Donation carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development and the Federal Medical and Biological Agency in 2008-2012.

Russia’s Blood Service regulates the activities of medical institutions involved in collecting, processing, and delivering donated blood and its components to medical facilities. In order to boost the amount of blood collected and to ensure that it is used efficiently, a data exchange system had to be established to connect units of the Blood Service. To this end, and pursuant to Resolution No. 465 of the Russian government dated June 21, 2008, a unified information database was created to "prepare, process, store, and ensure security of the donated blood and components."

As part of its obligations under this contract, ARMADA will take a series of measures aimed at ensuring uninterrupted operation for the information center and the transfusiology [1] automated information system of Russia’s Blood Service in all facilities launched in 2008-2010, including measures to protect confidential information on the donors’ personal data.
