On the first day of the Farnborough International Airshow – 2012, JSC IRKUT Corporation and JSC Aeroflot – Russian Airlines signed a cooperation agreement on the MC-21 aircraft after-sales support system development. The purpose of the above system is to reduce operating costs and increase operating reliability of MC-21

The multiple document envisages in particular: forming of operating requirements for MC-21; developing of after-sales support program to meet the best market practice; assist in the development of MC-21 planned maintenance; establishing warehouse within Moscow Hub sharing spare parts and consumable supplies; establishing regional MRO Center for MC-21 on the basis of Aeroflot MRO Center; forming aviation personnel training center for MC-21 on the basis of Aeroflot Training Center for Aviation Personnel; organizing the process of commissioning of the first MC-21 aircraft; revision of aircraft if required.

JSC IRKUT Corporation takes the leading position in the Russian aircraft manufacturing and has 15% share of the Russian arms export. The order book of IRKUT as in the beginning of June, 2012 makes about 7 billion USD.

Proceeds of JSC IRKUT Corporation in 2011 exceeded 1, 6 billion U.S. dollars (according to International Financial Reporting Standards). Over the past 10 years revenues of the Corporation grew by more than 3 times. Export of multi-role Su-30MK fighters is the basis of JSC IRKUT Corporation’s proceeds. In 2011 Yak-130 Combat trainers entered the list of exports as well.

Being the prime contractor IRKUT Corporation is working on the realization of main prospective project of Russian civil aviation – the creation of MC-21 short/mid range family of commercial airliners.

JSC Aeroflot – Russian airlines is Russia’s de facto National carrier and largest Airline, and full member of SkyTeam Aeroflot operates flights to 983 waypoints in 178 countries. In 2011, Aeroflot carried  14.17 million passengers. Aeroflot’s fleet, which is among Europe’s most modern, youngest and fastest growing, consists of 120 aircrafts.

The company is a leader in operating new Russian and foreign commercial aircraft types in Russia having intellectual and material base necessary to ensure operations of modern types of commercial aircraft. Aeroflot will be the main operator of MC-21 family of aircraft during its development.
