OREANDA-NEWS. July 16, 2012. In Ashgabat finished the 14th Central Asia Media Conference "From traditional to online media: Best Practices and Prospects”.

The Forum organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) gathered over 50 representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, international and regional experts in this field.

The main subject of speeches made during the second day of the conference began the development of social media and media in general in Central Asia. In particular representatives of the Central Asian states a detailed account of the national practice of the media, their transformation from traditional to online as well as methods of legal regulation. Speakers also briefed the forum participants to the concept of social media their role in the countries of the region. The special subject was the discussion of the relevant declaration.
