OREANDA-NEWS. July 16, 2012. In June 2012 Azerbaijan’s GDP made up 118.5% of May’s index (AZN 4.227 bn). The record index for 2011 and entire history of the country was registered in October 2011 (AZN 6.106 bn), and the June index approached closely to it.

The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan (SSCA) informs that for Jan-Jun of the year country’s GDP totaled AZN 25.86 bn or USD 32.735 bn in accord with reported term’s average exchange rate of AZN 0.79 to the US dollar that in comparable prices is by 1.5% more than GDP for Jan-Jun 2011 (AZN 24.987 bn). This June GDP totaled AZN 5.009 bn against AZN 4.227 bn in May, AZN 4.33 bn in April, AZN 4.287 bn in March, AZN 3.9 bn in February, and AZN 4.091 bn in January. Over Jan-Jun 2012 nominal GDP grew by 3.5% versus 17.9% for 2011 and 16.8% for 2010.

For comparison last year GDP was AZN 50.069 bn or AZN USD 63.378 bn which is by 0.1% more than GDP for 2010 (AZN 42.465 bn). In December 2011 GDP was AZN 4.59 bn versus AZN 4.786 bn in November and AZN 6.106 bn in October- absolute record for the entire history.

For Jan-Jun 2012 GDP per capita totaled AZN 2.28 (USD 3,597.5), adding AZN 547 (USD 695.6) in June versus AZN 547 (USD 695.6) in May, AZN 5,530.6 (USD 7,003.4) in 2011 and AZN 4,653.3 (USD 5,797.8) in 2010. The GDP deflator index for Jan-Jun was +2% versus 12.5% for Jan-Jun 2011.

Over Jan-Jun added value in manufacture made up AZN 13.96 bn (54% of GDP), in agriculture AZN 1.165 bn, construction AZN 2.388 bn, transport AZN 1.27 bn, communications AZN 431.8 million, wholesale and retail trade AZN 1.805 bn, and social services AZN 2.928 bn.

The share of production sector in GDP structure was 67.7% (AZN 17.5 bn) with added value decrease by 0.8%, the share of services 26.3% (AZN 6.788 bn) with added value rise of 6.3% and net production and import taxes 6% (AZN 1.558 bn) with rise by 9.8%.
