OREANDA-NEWS. July 18, 2012.  South Africa became the third country where the marketing office of the State Corporation ROSATOM is registered. The office was set up as the representative office of JSC Rusatom Overseas. Earlier marketing offices were opened in Ukraine and Singapore.

Among the objectives of the new office is the development of ROSATOM’s businesses in the Republic of South Africa, including marketing and promotion of the Russian nuclear technologies on the South African market, as well as developing relationships with potential customers, partners, and regulators. Another important activity of the office will be establishing mutually beneficial relations with the country’s business community, scientific community, as well as with industrial and financial groups of South Africa.

The new marketing office will be, among other things, in charge of developing relationships with South African partners to ensure the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between JSC Rusatom Overseas and the South African Atomic Energy Corporation (NECSA), which was signed in June 2012.

“Local presence is one of the most important criteria for a global company. Therefore, for the development of ROSATOM’s business abroad and for the expansion of the Russian nuclear energy technologies on the global market, we are establishing a network of marketing offices in key regions and countries of our interests. Given that South Africa has extensive plans for development of nuclear energy, building a mutually advantageous partnership with this country is a priority for us”, said Kirill Komarov, Deputy Director General for International Business and Development of ROSATOM.

“We fully support our South African partners in their efforts to implement a serious program of the national nuclear industry development. ROSATOM’s integrated offer in NPP construction may be of interest to our partners, since together with safe and referential VVER technology it envisages a variety of financial solutions and ability to maximize the involvement of the local industry”, noted Alexey Kalinin, Director General of Rusatom Overseas.
