OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2012.  A regular meeting of “Rosenergoatom” Concern with the representatives of Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC) and Rostov NPP took place at Rostov NPP at July 16-20. The meeting discussed some issues devoted to the optimization of outages.  

The participants of the meeting including the Rostov NPP management and its key specialists discussed the most pending concerns in this area like outage planning and implementation; equipment modernization and field inspections. They also exchanged engineering experience in the fields of reactor equipment operation and operation of reactor control and protection system electrical equipment. 

JNPC specialists made the plant tour during which they took a specific interest in the safety improvement measures that have been implemented at  Rostov NPP after Fukushima accident.  "We have long-standing relations and are ready to share our know-how and best practices both in operations and in maintenance. We are absolutely convinced that you will make good use of this knowledge and experience”,- said Andrey Salnikoff, Rostov NPP Director addressing the participants of the meeting.   

In his turn Mr. Huang Chang, JNPC Deputy General Director, noted: “We know that Rostov NPP has developed a huge experience in the reactor operation field and has an extensive record of successful outages. We are operating very similar power units, so we rely on your support  to make  Tianwan NPP, which has won the reputation of a safe  modern facility, even better” . 

The Chinese delegation visit took place within the framework of the existing agreement and in accordance with the approved schedule of mutual activities run by the Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation and “Rosenergoatom” Concern OJSC.
