OREANDA-NEWS. July 24, 2012. In recognition of the safety management standards observed at its receiving stations in Mumbai, Tata Power’s transmission arm has been conferred with Greentech Safety Award 2012.

The transmission division of Tata Power bagged the Silver Award in the Power Sector category for maintaining high standards of workplace safety. The coveted award is given by Greentech Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, annually to recognise efforts at ensuring workplace safety.

Applauding the efforts put by the transmission team, S Padmanabhan, executive director, operations, Tata Power, said, “We are glad that the efforts put in by our transmission team in Mumbai has been recognised. We, at Tata Power, always strive to maintain high safety standards across our area of operations and will continue to do so. We want to continue setting benchmarks in safety going forward.”

The award was presented at the 11th Annual Global Fire, Safety and Security Conference held at Srinagar, in the presence of Dr Bhaskar Chatterjee, director general, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, government of India and RC Nayyar, principal secretary to government of Punjab, department of labour & employment.
