OREANDA-NEWS. August 14, 2012. Transstroymekhanisatsiya (TSM, a Mostotrest subsidiary) has won the tender for the contract to overhaul the km 306+000 – km 321+000 (Tver Region) segment of M-9 "Baltiya" Highway (Moscow – Latvian Border, via Volokolamsk). The total length of the segment is 14.9 km. TSM has been awarded the contract based on the results of the competitive bid assessment by the tender commission.

Designed by StroiProject and NovgorodStroiProject Design Facilities, the project has been commissioned by the Federal Public Agency "Moscow – Saint Petersburg Highway Directorate" of the Federal Highway Agency ("Russia" Highway Directorate). The total value of the contract to be completed on September 30, 2013 amounts to RUB1.4 billion (including VAT).

In accordance with the approved project documentation, TSM will upgrade a two-lane Class 3 highway. The company will lay bituminous concrete road carpet, fortify and extend roadsides, re-arrange car stop areas and erect metal road safety barriers. Traffic way width upon completion of the project will be 7 m, design speed: 100 km/h.

The project will be executed with no traffic closures.

In November 2011, TSM launched Stage 1 upgrade of an M-9 "Baltiya" segment (km 17+910 – km 50+016) in the Moscow Region.

With the total length of 610 km, M-9 "Baltiya" Highway makes an integral part of E22 European Route. The highway offers strong operating properties until the Tver Region border but bottles further on, with no roadside asphalt flooring. The upgrade project will significantly improve the highway condition, increase traffic speed and safety.

TRANSSTROYMEKHANISATSIYA (TSM) is focused on construction and renovation of transport infrastructure, including automobile roads, airports and railways.
