OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2012. SCM announced the initiative to build Grigorivska, the first international school in Donetsk.

Grigorivska International School is the first in Donetsk to teach Ukrainian and international curricula. The graduates will get Ukrainian and international diplomas and continue education in Ukraine and globally without the need to additionally confirm the knowledge at European or U.S. universities.

“We believe in the huge potential of Ukraine. To unleash it, Ukrainian children should receive top-class education in Ukraine, and not only in the capital but in other regions as well. Grigorivska School, a joint project of SCM and Ukrinvest, pursues a big social goal of creating an invigorating environment to develop smart and talented children,” said Project Manager Natalia Gnilitskaya.

“SCM is committed to sustainable development principles. We seek to make our social projects not an add-on but an integral part of our business. Therefore, the School is not just an educational social initiative placing Donetsk and Ukraine on the European education map but also a self-sufficient and sustainable business project.”

School enrolment will follow a competitive transparent and clear model. The education will be provided on a fee-paying basis with a system of discounts and grants for 5% of students.

Importantly, Grigorivska will create more than a hundred of jobs. Ukrainian (over 50%) and international professionals will teach at the school after specialist training and multi-stage selection.

SCM Group (75%) and Ukrinvest (25%) are shareholders of Grigorivska School on a partnership basis. The project will be realized without governmental funding with investor contributions that will amount to at least USD 15m.

Grigorivska School will open on 1 September 2014.
