OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2012. Deutsche Telekom increases its focus on the development and publishing of proprietary games and is extending its portfolio of in-house game productions. The first featured browser game is based on the universally successful Asterix franchise. In association and with the creative expertise of global publisher SEE Games, Deutsche Telekom has become the worldwide publisher of the Asterix online browser game.

The game is being developed by Sproing in Vienna, which has many years of experience in the development of international productions, and has created major hits in the browser-based game space, including SkyRama, a massively popular management game.

“To develop an interactive adventure with such a legendary brand is an exciting challenge for us,” explains Marko Hein, Vice President Games at Deutsche Telekom. “We are working hard so that we will soon be able to offer devoted fans a unique experience and breathe new "interactive" life into Asterix. This game is definitely the flagship of a range of products which will get Deutsche Telekom started in the growing area of game publishing.”

With 345 million comics sold and 11 movies made, the Asterix adventures are famous all over the world. Fans will soon be able to find Asterix as a free-to-play browser game also on the Deutsche Telekom games platform Gamesload.
