Filling with oil of a 812-km section of the East Siberia – Pacific Ocean oil pipeline going through theterritoryofAmurregion, has finished, as the press office of “Lal’nefteprovod” Ltd. reports. The oil went by the trunk pipeline to oil pumping station No. 30 in the area of Obluchye city ofJewish Autonomous Region. The filling of the trunk oil pipeline goes by sections. There are five such sections in theterritoryofAmur River Region.

The longest oil pipeline section of 259 km length goes through the territories of two RF constituent entities: Amur region and Jewish Autonomous Region.

R.Galiev, the General Manager of “Dal’nefteprovod” Ltd. reported: “Despite the natural relief of Amur region is rather complicated for building and exploitation of the oil pipeline, its filling with oil went normally”. According to him, only in Amur Riven Region the route of the oil pipeline crosses five water barriers: these are riversZeya, Bol’shaya Pera, Tom’, Bureya and Arkhara. Besides, the oil pipeline goes through a cross-country terrain, there are sections with a significant difference of altitudes, crossings with rail roads. “Because of this, alongside with the intratubal diagnostics, hydraulic and pneumo-testings, additional safety measures were used while filling the section. Boom defenses were mounted at all the under-water passages, twenty-four-hour duty of specialized squads was organized, too. Specialists on the oil pipeline exploitation, groups of ecological control, as well as safety services perform the constant supervision for the linear part of oil pipeline using helicopters and overland technologies”, he noted.

Ten specialized brigades observed the oil travel by the pipe with the help of sonic- and low-frequency radars. Indicators of pressure, temperature, and state of equipment were controlled twenty-four-hour. More than 300 specialists and 160 units of special vehicles were attracted. Complex mobile brigades equipped with all the necessary machines and equipment were formed to provide safety while filling the pipe.

Filling of the next two sectors will be started in the end of August 2012, their total length will amount 413 km.
