OREANDA-NEWS. September 04, 2012.  A quality management system (QMS) audit has been successfully accomplished in JSC TVEL. The audit was carried out by CEZ а.s. (Czech Republic) and covered supplier’s quality in executing fuel supply contracts for VVER reactors.

During the audit the auditors noted that the Fuel Company of ROSATOM TVEL continued developing the existing Corporate Quality Management System. The company carries out an active work to improve the Integrated System of Management of quality, environment, health and occupational safety at all JSC TVEL’s enterprises. In 2012 it is planned to expand the certification of the integrated management system (IMS) to 6 enterprises, including VNIINM. And by 2013 the IMS is planned to expand to the rest of Fuel Company’s enterprises.

The CEZ representatives noted the strong points of JSC TVEL as follows: a high level of competence of the personnel, the leadership of management, a high level of standardization of processes, and high effectiveness of preventive actions and internal audits and checks.

The quality management system is developing well, and this is demonstrated in documents submitted during the audit, Antonin Trezeciak, the CEZ Chief Editor, pointed out.

The CEZ auditors concluded that the quality management system as regards execution of the above said contracts between CEZ and JSC TVEL was conformant with requirements of the international standard EN ISO 9001.
