OREANDA-NEWS. September 11, 2012. Atomstroyexport increased the amount of claims against the National Electricity Company of Bulgaria (NEC EAD) with regard of the construction project of building two power units at Belene NPP; the case is processed by the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris.

The increase in the claim amount is conditioned by the fact that at the present time the project has been terminated before its expiry date by the Government of Bulgaria and the Agreement of 29.11.2006 has expired, but NEC EAD continues refusing to compensate Atomstroyexport for the incurred costs and losses. In this regard the Atomstroyexport’s claims cover the cost of all works done on the project, the cost of long-lead equipment manufacture, losses and other.

A total amount of the increased claim is not less than 1 billion euro.
