The other two enterprises visited by Head of Karelia were founded on June, 8, on the Day of the Republic. This is when the factory of Yagoda Karelii was launched and Petrozavodskmash was founded with a difference in 51 years: in 2011 and in 1960 respectively.

Yagoda Karelii factory for advanced processing of wild and garden berries is not only one of the most new, but also long-awaited enterprises of Karelia. Lots of cowberries, cranberries, bilberries, cloudberries, etc. is gathered annually in the republic, buthere there was no modern equipment for processing of raw material was not only in Karelia, but in whole Russia.

Within 6 months the enterprise has produced 356 tons of preserves, jams, confiture, fillings, etc. Within this year it is planned to produce almost 8,000 tons of products amounting to more than one billion roubles.

Eduard Krul, Director General of Yagoda Karelii, has offered Alexander Khudilainen an excursion to the shops of the factory, has explained the technology of production of fruit and berry products and shared plans of expansion of production.

The factory of Yagoda Karelii is of great importance to Karelia from both economical, and social points of view. Today the factory has about 70 workplaces. Upon start-up of the equipment at full capacity the number of employees of the enterprise will make 160 people. The factory also gives an opportunity to the citizens of the republic to have additional incomes in summer and in autumn from gathering and selling wild-growing berries.

If Yagoda Karelii is a rather young enterprise, then Petrozavodskmash is an enterprise with a more than 50-year history.

Currently, Petrozavodskmash is one the largest enterprises within a machine-building division of RosAtom state corporation producing equipment for nuclear industry, oil-and-gas equipment and equipment for pulp-and-paper industry.

More than one and a half thousand employees work at the enterprise. Its produce is shipped to all regions of Russia and abroad, and is used in more than 40 countries of the world. The current project of launching the production of heavy reactor plant equipment knows no equals in modern domestic engineering industry.

Alexander Khudilainen who by his first education is an engineer-mechanic and had started his career at Leningrad Mechanical Plant has closely examined industrial lines of Petrozavodskmash and has visited the museum of the enterprise.

The Managing Director of Petrozavodskmash Evgeny Pakermanov has told about plans for development of the enterprise, its investment projects. One of them is a project implemented in cooperation with Petrozavodsk State University concerning creation of ecologically safe transportation and packing kits for storage and transportation of spent nuclear fuel.

– Currently, we're about to complete works on production of a trial container, next year we will be able to offer a product already certificated, coordinated, and tested to produce it serially, it will be a product in demand, indeed, – Evgeny Pakermanov has mentioned.

Alexander Khudilainen has asked how matters stand at the enterprise regarding the personnel. Evgeny Pakermanov has pointed out that in previous years when the salaries were twice as less as on the average in Petrozavodsk local residents went to work there unwillingly, it was necessary to involve workers from outside the republic. Now the salary grows, and the situation improves.

– This year we've had an inflow of the regional personnel. We welcome young specialists willing to work and to learn, as well as the skilled experts. We have reduced the number of personnel which we bring from other regions sharply. 90% is local personnel, – Evgeny Pakermanov said.

Innovative projects of the enterprise are aimed to involve talented young people, train highly skilled personnel, for example, the youth design office organized at the enterprize within the framework of strategic partnership with PetrSU and creation of the department of the National Nuclear Research University "MEPHI" at the enterprise for preparation of experts in the field of nuclear mechanical engineering and carrying out of joint scientific researches.

According to Head of Karelia, provision of local staff specialists for enterprises is a good and necessary task, as the labor force potential in Karelia is huge.

Completing his visit to enterprises Alexander Khudilainen has mentioned:

– The current state of technological equipment and the level of production of our enterprises as a whole, the level of automation, high technologies applied nowadays excite pride. We have got everything here, and we should speak about it and show it. Then the young generation and all the population will have a completely different perception of the world.
