OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2012. Taganrog Boiler-Making Works Krasny Kotelshchik (the main production assets of PJSC EMAlliance that is part of the Power-Engineering Concern Power Machines) has set about manufacture of the Pilot Plant with CFB (Circulating Fluidized Bed) Furnace. Works are carried out in accordance with the state order. The Plant will be installed in Taganrog on the base of the R&D and Commissioning Department of EMAlliance.

In 2010 the approval was given to The List of the Most Important Innovation Projects of the Government Importance to be Commenced in 2010 at RF Ministry of Industry and Trade. This List includes the Project "Creation of Production Basis of Steam Boilers with Steaming Capacity of 670 t/h and 1000 t/h with the CFB Furnace to 225 MW Power Units for Subcritical Steam Parameters and 330 MW for Supercritical Steam Parameters". Its implementation was assigned to the Scientific & Production Association TsNIITMASH. The research and design work is performed by EMAlliance in cooperation with the leading branch institutes of the country – VTI and NPO CKTI. The main components of the Pilot Plant with the CFB Furnace, including the ash fluidized bed heat exchanger, tubular air heater, water economizers, furnace and platen, shall be produced by Krasny Kotelshchik.

The Pilot Plant will allow verifying the new technical characteristics that will be used in designing boilers with steaming capacity of 670 t/h and 1000 t/h with the CFB Furnace to 225 MW Power Units for Subcritical Steam Parameters and 330 MW for Supercritical Steam Parameters.

It will be remembered that fluidized bed boilers are considered one of the most promising trends in the present-day power industry. They not only efficiently burn the low-heating-value, high-ash and sulfur fuels, but also solve environmental problems regarding the reduction in nitrogen oxides and sulphide emissions.
