OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2012. Russian Railways, the Open Joint Stock Company Freight One and Tatravagonka a.s. have signed an agreement to manufacture bogies with three axles and a 25 ton-force axle load for use on freight wagons, reported the press-centre of RZD.

The agreement was signed at the international conference Railway Engineering: 1520 and 1435 Partnership in Berlin.

Valentin Gapanovich, Senior Vice President of Russian Railways, Sergey Kaletin, Deputy CEO of Freight One, and Alexej Beljajev, CEO of Tatravagonka’s Board of Directors, signed the agreement, which provides for joint participation in the development and manufacture of the three-axle bogies.

The cooperation will facilitate the design, development and manufacture of prototypes and the testing, certification and commissioning of the bogies.

At present, the Russian railway network is mainly serviced by wagons with an axle load of 23.5 ton-force. Increasing the axle load will increase the capacity of the rolling stock and the efficiency of the rail infrastructure.
