OREANDA-NEWS. October 8, 2012. Sergey Kogogin, General Director of OJSC KAMAZ, has participated in the technical conference “Possibilities of Usage of Advanced Models of KAMAZ Vehicles in Russia’s Interior Ministry Troops” which is being held today in the 21st operational brigade of the Central Regional Command of Russia’s Interior Ministry Troops.

Nikolay Rogozhkin, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Commander in Chief of Russia’s Interior Ministry Troops, General of the Army, discussed with Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, issues related to the operation, maintenance and repair of KAMAZ motor vehicles which are used in formations and military units of the Russian Interior Ministry troops. The interlocutors determined the main areas of cooperation to develop advanced models of vehicles for Russla’s internal forces for a period till 2020.

The Ministry of Interior and KAMAZ has been cooperating since 1976. At present, the MOI units have got about 1,700 KAMAZ vehicles of various modifications, which makes about 30% of the whole truck fleet.

OJSC KAMAZ presented its current and next-generation models of KAMAZ vehicles – KAMAZ-43269M “Vystrel-M”, IVECO of the 65E19WM “Rys” model, KAMAZ-63968 "Typhoon", as well as military vehicles of the "Mustang" line – KAMAZ-5350, KAMAZ-6350, KAMAZ-43501, KAMAZ-65224.

The conferees managed to see potential of KAMAZ vehicles for themselves at the testing ground of Military Unit 3641. For example, landing troops demonstrated how they can shoot on-the-run, land and also take up a defensive position and shoot using their standard weapon driving IVECO (“Rys”) and KAMAZ-43269M (“Vystrel-M”).

Nikolay Rogozhkin shared his positive impressions of his test drive of two KAMAZ models – KAMAZ-43269M “Vystrel-M” and KAMAZ-63968 “Typhoon”.
