OREANDA-NEWS. October 9, 2012. TRL Krosaki Refractories (TRL Krosaki) recently organised a free health camp to conduct cleft lip and cleft palate correction surgeries at its JG Hospital. Nineteen people were successfully operated on at the camp. The company provided the entire cost of transportation of the patients and their attendants to Belpahar, the cost of surgery, food and post operative care, etc. The surgeries were conducted by noted plastic surgeon Dr R Bharat from Jamshedpur.

A small interaction session was organised at the hospital for the patients on the day of discharge. Dr TK Das, director (MS), Dr SS Sutar, assistant. director (MS), HK Panda, manager (admin), SA Habib, AGM (HRM), and PK Patnaik, senior officer (HRM), interacted with the beneficiaries and their dependents. All the beneficiaries were provided with medicine supplements for post-operative care. At the end of the session, Smile Train School Bags were distributed among the children.

The CD and SW departments of the company, under its CSR programme Operation Khushi, organises such camps in association with JG Hospital, Belpahar, to bring back smiles to people suffering from cleft lip and cleft palate. The campaign was started in 2004 and more than 800 cases have been successfully operated on so far. With the continued superior performance in correcting cleft lip and cleft palate, JG Hospital is accredited by the prestigious Smile Train Foundation of the US and a brand new Tata Nano Car has been gifted by the Tata group for their promotion of the noble cause.
