OREANDA-NEWS. October 9, 2012. Belarus’ Ppremier Mikhail Myasnikovich supports the idea of introducing a single currency in the framework of the Customs Union, which includes Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan.

The Belarusian premier made statement to that effect at a business forum in Yalta on September 28.

“As regards currency integration, we should go through all the stages. We are in fact going through those stages, however, we must not anticipate things. It will be hard to continue working without a common currency and synchronized currency policies,” Myasnikovich said.

Myasnikovich also said he supports Russian premier Medvedev’s proposal that the Russian ruble could be used as a reserve currency.
