OREANDA-NEWS. October 10, 2012. Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output rose 4% on the year in January-August 2012 to 1.751 million tonnes, an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee told.

Steel output increased 3.3% on the year to 1,922 million tonnes. Steel wire output rose 3% on the year to 288,700 tonnes in the period.

Belarusian companies produced 61,600 tonnes of metal cord in the period, down 4% on the year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus increased 2.5% on the year to 26.381 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in January-August 2012.

Inventories of steel products totalled Br1.45 trillion (USD 170.588 million) as of September 1, 2012, 61.9% of the average monthly output.
