OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2012. GE Appliances continues to build on an already impressive 2012, as its new Slate appliance finish is named one of the Top 100 Products for 2012 by This Old House (TOH).

After countless hours of consumer research, GE Appliances introduced Slate – a warm, grey metallic with a low-gloss finish that is a natural complement to the wide spectrum of wall colors, countertop materials and floor and cabinetry finishes found in most homes today. The matte finish on the exterior of the appliances is easy to clean and resists finger prints.

This prestigious list celebrates TOH’s ranking of the 100 best new home products of the year and features selections from seven different categories: Kitchen, Bath, Tools, Building Products, Outdoor Living, Home Tech and Finishing Touches.

“To be recognized by such a well-respected magazine as This Old House, means a great deal to GE Appliances,” stated Brian McWaters, brand general manager for GE Appliances. “It is a tremendous honor and we are very pleased to make the list. The research and tireless hard work in the development of our Slate appliances by our GE employees in industrial design, product management and manufacturing has given consumers new choices to create their dream kitchen.”

GE was chosen for this accolade from more than a thousand applicants. The award-winning products were selected by TOH editors, who judged each product based on uniqueness and ability to make a difference in the lives of its readers and their families.

The “TOH Top 100” was created for the readers of the magazine, with hopes of saving them effort, money and time, in terms of their home improvement projects.
