OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2012. The first session of the Russian-Swedish Business Council (RSBC) was held at the embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in Moscow.

In attendance of the session were representatives of Russian government agencies, the embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden and RSBC member companies.

Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman – Executive Director of the Russian-Swedish Business Council Alexandr Ivanov represented Vnesheconombank at the session.

The meeting’s participants summed up the results of the Russian-Swedish Business Council’s first year of operation and discussed general objectives for the near future. The two sides noted that promoting projects of bilateral and mutually beneficial cooperation should become an important line of activity particularly stressing that interaction in science, culture, education, tourism and sports should be in the focus of constant attention of the Council. In the course of the session its participants heard out a report of the Russian Economic Development Ministry on Russia’s accession to the WTO and on promoting Russian-Swedish trade and economic relations as part of this process

The Russian-Swedish Business Council is a nongovernmental, non-profit organization uniting Russian and Swedish companies and organizations irrespective of their forms of property. Vnesheconombank and Ericsson respectively are responsible for coordinating activities of the Russian and Swedish parts of the Council and for managing its executive bodies. Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev is a co-chairman of the Russian-Swedish Business Council.
