OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2012. Uwe Harbauer (48) takes on his new position as Senior Vice President Business Unit Pharma at Bosch Packaging Technology in Crailsheim, Germany, on January 1, 2013. He replaces Wolfgang Szczerba (59), who retires after 34 years at Bosch. Harbauer himself will be succeeded as Senior Vice President Packaging Services in Beringen, Switzerland, by Walter Hдcki (48). Hдcki already moved to his new position on November 1, 2012.

 Mechanical engineer Szczerba, who will celebrate his 60th birthday in January, started his career as development engineer in the Packaging Technology division back in 1981. In 2000, he became technical plant manager of the Crailsheim site, and since 2002 he has been responsible for Bosch Packaging Technology's Pharma business unit.

Harbauer with long-term sales and service experience
His successor Uwe Harbauer also graduated in mechanical engineering and started working for Bosch Packaging Technology in 2000. He draws on many years of experience as head of sales of the Pharma business unit, and as senior vice president in charge of customer service. Most recently he held the position of Senior Vice President Business Unit Packaging Services in Beringen, Switzerland.

Walter Hдcki takes over Packaging Services business unit
Walter Hдcki (48) already took on his new position as Senior Vice President Business Unit Packaging Services on November 1, 2012. Swiss-born Hдcki graduated as trade merchant and, in 2000, started working for Sigpack Systems, which has been part of Bosch since 2004. He was head of supply chain management in Beringen, and member of the executive management in Budapest, Hungary. From 2008 to 2012, Hacki was responsible for Bosch Packaging Technology's Chinese locations in Hangzhou (Zhejiang province) and Chengdu (Sichuan province). Chee Kiang Kang has succeeded Hacki in China. Kang worked as site manager in Singapore and has gained experience as a product manager in Germany in preparation for his new functions in China.

Internationally experienced executives
On behalf of the executive management, Friedbert Klefenz, president of Bosch Packaging Technology, thanked Wolfgang Szczerba for his commitment over the past decades. At the same time, he wished Walter Hacki, Uwe Harbauer and Chee Kiang Kang success in their new positions. “These appointments once again underline the long-term orientation of Bosch Packaging Technology. Both business units, as well as the entire division, will profit from long-term and international experience of their new managers,” said Klefenz.
