OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2012. MegaFon took part in the Open Innovations forum, where the Personnel Management service was introduced. This solution helps to effect on-line monitoring for movement of employees and to support on-line communication with them.

At the Open Innovations forum the country’s leading experts presented and discussed potentials and prospects of using the geolocation technology nowadays. MegaFon demonstrated its own solution at the exhibition booth of the Non-Profit Partnership “Assistance to Development and Usage of Navigation Technologies” — a service for arrangement of personnel work at major events, and coordination of volunteers at test competitions in Sochi was used as an example. The solution has been designed by MegaLabs, MegaFon’s subsidiary.

This service allows an administrator to effect control over employees using a special WEB-interface. The volunteers, who are involved in various events in different clusters of the Olympic zone, are equipped with mobile terminals that combine the advantages of MegaFon’s hardware and GLONASS technology. The exact location of employees may be identified on a map, which provides for efficient personnel management and safety at the sport venues.

Any movements of employees and help teams may be monitored online, which helps to response promptly to any incidents. If there is any emergency, failure or accident, the operator on duty will identify the employees, who are close to the location, and alerts them of the incident. The operator may send SMS to the employees who are selected at the map and prompt communication is set up.

“Technical capability of GLONASS enables coordinating properly the effort of even large group of employees and provides for maximum automation of control over them,” says Oleg Nikolaenko, Head of GLONASS Project in MegaFon. — “Our company is a partner at many major sport events in Russia and we may definitely say that the introduced service may be used effectively at any large-scale events, where thousands of volunteers work at dozens of sport venues, like Olympic Games and Universiade”.

MegaFon is a member of the Non-Profit Partnership “Assistance to Development and Usage of Navigation Technologies” that includes the market leaders: NIS OJSC, Yandex, Summa Telecom, MTS, VimpelCom, RTComm.RU and GLONASS /GNSS Forum. The Partnership was founded in May 2012 in order to accelerate development and implementation of GLONASS technology, and participate in improvement of legislation and competitive market growth. Cooperation with the government and other companies for implementation of major projects is an important part of MegaFon’s operations. The Open Innovations forum was arranged by the leading Russian development institutions and Moscow government, and it was supported by the RF Government. This event has assembled representatives of business, government and science in order to exchange the experience and to analyze the key global trends in innovations.
