OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2012. The BP Foundation announced that it will donate USD 500,000 to the American Red Cross in support of Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

The USD 500,000 donation is in addition to donations made by the BP Foundation Employee Matching Program and will assist Red Cross efforts to provide meals, shelter, clothing, water and medical care.

The Red Cross has opened more than 100 shelters in nine states including New Jersey. Officials expect to serve 250,000 to 500,000 meals per day in New York City.
