OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2012.  Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, topped the Top 100 rating of the business elite of the Republic of Tatarstan compiled by CASD (Center for Analytic Studies) jointly with Paradigma Consulting against the order of Tatarstan’s newspaper – BUSINESS Online.

The rating of the business elite of the Republic of Tatarstan was compiled with the account taken of opinions of businessmen, government officials and mass media from Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny. The experts estimate the TOP-100 participants by six criteria: managerial expertise, authority with colleagues, significance of the enterprise for Tatarstan’s economy, lobbying capabilities, influence on mass media, and successful crisis management measures taken by the company.

In July, KAMAZ’s CEO topped the preceding rating, which caused a sensation because he managed to take the lead over Shafagat Takhautdinov, General Director of Tatneft, who had led all previous TOP-100 ratings for five years running. According to the experts, Sergey Kogogin took the place of the leader of the rating thanks to his open information policy, close relations with the business elite at the federal level. "Openness is the key factor nowadays”, notes BUSINESS Online. “And others can follow the example of KAMAZ – the most open large-scale company in Tatarstan... For BUSINESS Online’s critical attitude to many aspects of KAMAZ’s activities, we cannot but give credit for openness, “a thick skin to offences”, and KAMAZ managers’ friendly attitude to mass media.”
