OREANDA-NEWS. December 4, 2012. Belarusian state-owned distillery Belalco, based in Brest, will be reincorporated as a joint-stock company by July 2013, a source in the administration of the company told reporters.

The company has already made a full inventory of its assets and is now busy filing formal documents.

Belalco increased vodka and hard drink export 49.8% year on year in January-October 2012 to USD 2.541 million.

The distillery rolled out 106,500 decaliters of vodka and liquors (up 93%), 260 tonnes of startch (up 2.6 times), 76,500 litres of pure alcohol (up 3.1%).

The company exports its products to New Zealand, Ukraine, Vietnam, the Baltic States, Germany, Kazakhstan, Poland, Bulgaria and Russia.

Vodka output increased 1.4% to 1.617 million decaliters.

Alcohol inventories stood at 70,000 decalitres as of November 1, 2012, including inventories of brandy – 7,000 decalitres.

In value terms, Belalco’s output rose to 310.673 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) in January-October 2012 to compare with Br114.873 billion in Jan-Oct 2011.

The Brest-based distillery was established in 1897. It is capable of making about 1.5 million decaliters of hard drinks a year.
