OREANDA-NEWS. December 04, 2012. For the past few years the Republic of Singapore has become the leading Asian center of agricultural commodity trading. The leading world producers of grain crops opened their Asian trade sites in Singapore.

Singapore was chosen due to several reasons. Firstly, due to convenient strategic location: the country is situated between the largest market of India and China that ensures effective logistics and quick information processing. Secondly, another advantage is a stable business environment of the country: it acts as a key center as to financing and risks control activity. In Singapore there are a lot of financial institutions, such as ING, Fortis, BNP Paribas, Standard Chartered Bank, Rabobank. Tax incentives, such as Global Trader Programme, confirm the role of Singapore as a convenient trade centre.

Asian country continues to search for new powerful investors creating the most comfortable conditions for them and improving the investment climate. Grain trading operations are one of the key directions of NIBULON’s activities and development. Thus, it is quite logical that the latter enters the list of companies Singapore would like see in its own domestic market in the coming years.

On November 21, 2012, for this purpose, NIBULON (Mykolayiv city) was visited by Henley Chan, director of Moscow Representative Office of the Committee on International Trade Development of Singapore under the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore, and Diana Belyaeva, project manager. In NIBULON’s central office they met with General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy and the company’s management, including Valeriy Kunytskyy, the head of the department of marketing and foreign economic relations, and Oleksandr Khohlov, the deputy general director of quality assurance. The guests also visited the transshipment terminal on shipment of grain and oil crops.

During the meeting the guests told about the plans of NIBULON’s development in Asian region and also about an opportunity to assist NIBULON in creation of highly effective network of grain export.

During the meeting Henley Chan described the principles of organization and doing business in Singapore, tax remissions, positive investment climate, etc.

According to her, NIBULON will get a number of positive factors that simplify doing business: free enterprise, minimal restrictions on product export and import, simplicity of company’s management, attractive tax remissions, reliable infrastructure, developed network of tax agreements. Singapore proved itself to be an authoritative world trade center with the considerable quantity of the main international players. The government creates favourable conditions that will promote Singapore as a world trade center.

The guests were impressed by the company, including the transshipment terminal. NIBULON conducted a wonderful excursion to the main transshipment terminal. “We were impressed by the facility, including its laboratory located at the terminal and equipped with modern equipment. Thus, due to the first-class technique and professional team, NIBULON’s products meet the world quality standards. Asia is a rising and young market, and we think your company is one of the world’s largest argo-industrial companies. We would be glad to have your business presence in Singapore. It will help to develop your agribusiness and also to provide our region with high quality products of the agro-industrial sector”, said Diana Belyaeva.

By the way, it is not the first acquaintance of NIBULON with Asian region. In February 2009 Andriy Vadaturskyy, the deputy general director of commerce, introduced NIBULON during the World Grains Trade Summit held in Singapore. The global conference allowed the participants to analyze and estimate the grain and oil crops market in order to define possible priorities and possible investment.

Comparing countries and continents for doing business (Europe or Singapore), we can say that at present an impulse gradually shifts for benefit of Asian countries. Many foreign companies create subsidiaries or establish new companies here. Singapore’s interest in our company, pledging of guarantees of favourable investment climate force NIBULON’s management to think over expansion of its business presence in Singapore.
