OREANDA-NEWS. December 04, 2012. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced that it has commenced shipment of the all-new Outlander SUV assembled at PCMA Rus*1 from December 3.

The all-new Outlander was first released to the Russian market in July of this year, being exported from Japan. The model has already been a great hit in Russia, and it is expected that the local production that will be available at PCMA Rus will enable MMC to more efficiently bring new Outlanders to a rapidly growing customer base.

The PCMA Rus plant was opened in April 2010 and had been producing the Peugeot and Citroen brand C-segment models and SUVs, as well as the previous generation Outlander. In July of this year, full-scale production commenced first with the Peugeot 408, a Peugeot brand C-segment model. This was followed by full-scale assembly of MMC's all-new Outlander which began in November. In 2013, a Citroen brand model will be brought to full-scale production, followed by production of MMC's Pajero Sport.
*1: An assembly plant owned by both PSA Peugeot Citroen (70%) and MMC (30%) located in the Kaluga region, 180km southwest of Moscow.
