OREANDA-NEWS. December 04, 2012. Severstal, one of the world’s leading steel and steel-related mining companies, was the only Russian company shortlisted at the leading British awards ceremony for in-house communications professionals - CorpComms Awards 2012.

Severstal was shortlisted in the Best City Communications category, together with its PR agency Hudson Sandler, for the communication of its new corporate strategy to the investor community and financial media. The judges commended Severstal for its Capital Markets Day which was held in London in 2011 and remains, with about 250 participants from across the globe, the biggest and most comprehensive event of its kind held by a Russian company in the United Kingdom.

Severstal was shortlisted with two other companies in the Best City Communications category – Kingfisher and Royal Bank of Scotland. Nominees in other categories included Fedex, GE, ArcelorMittal, HSBC, London Business School, Nokia, Sainsbury’s and UPS.

The annual CorpComms Awards is one of the world’s most prestigious PR awards. Now in their seventh year, they recognize excellence in corporate communications. This year the ceremony was attended by more than 500 PR professionals, mostly from the UK-based companies.
