OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2012. International train No. 23/24 Moscow - Berlin - Paris made its maiden trip on 12 December 2011. Operated by the Federal Passenger Company, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, the train has now carried more than 35,000 passengers.

At 3,177 km, the Moscow - Berlin - Paris run is the second longest trans-European service and is exceeded only by the Moscow - Nice route.

In spite of the large distance, however, the entire trip takes passengers just one night – after departing from Moscow’s Belarus Station in the morning, the train arrives at Gare de l’Est (East Station) in the French capital in the evening of the next day.

The service runs three times a week during the winter and 5 times a week in summer.

The train is equipped with Luxury, 1st and 2nd class passenger carriages. Passengers are served by highly qualified conductors who have undergone competitive selection and have a basic knowledge of foreign languages.

Special fares are available for children, groups of passengers, families, seniors and youth.

From 1 August 2012, the Moscow - Berlin - Paris train began offering a new service: e-registration.

Now, passengers only have to show the conductors their electronic tickets (either on paper or on their mobile display) in order to board the train, as well as the identification document they specified when purchasing their tickets.

Passengers can withdraw from the online registration service at any time up to one hour before the train departs from the starting station.
