OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2012. OMZ Special Steels, part of OMZ Group, has launched the new modernized heating furnace.

The furnace is designed to heat for normalizing, quenching and tempering steel stamps and will produce heat-treated products of up to 13m and a width of 3.9m and maximum weight of 80t. Thanks to the modernization, the furnace meets all modern standards and requirements, relating to the new generation gas thermal ovens (precision temperature control of ± 5°C, heating rate of up to 100 °C/h, and the rate of cooling to 40°C/h). The furnace is designed for heat treatment of metal sheets, manufactured from the promising new steel grades with the quenching temperature to 1150 °C. In addition, the commissioning of this furnace will provide a 20% drop in gas consumption for thermal treatment of metals.

The works are conducted by Bosio (Slovenia). Total volume of investment constitutes 61 million roubles.
