OREANDA-NEWS. December 27, 2012. Baku expects boom in construction of 3-star hotels in 2013.

Culture & Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev says that active work in this area is under way.

"The President has tasked us to pay more attention to the construction of three-star hotels in the capital, with a view to expand the range and price range of travel services," the minister said.

In his opinion, Baku already has enough 5-star hotels. And new hotels will meet all international standards, as the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan has approved national standard, which tightened much the requirements for the classification of hotels.

"The requirements have been toughened, and this is the demand of time, as we want Azerbaijan’s tourist services would meet international standards," Garayev said.
