OREANDA-NEWS. December 28, 2012. The Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Igor Artemyev, had a meeting with the Head of the Competition Division at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), John Davies, and the coordinator for Russia’s ascending OECD – Deputy OECD Director on Finances and Entrepreneurship, Robert Ley.

At the meeting with OECD executives, FAS was also represented by deputy head of FAS Andrey Tsyganov; Deputy Head of FAS Anatoly Golomolzin; the Head of Department for International Economic Cooperation, Lesya Davydova; the Head of the Analytical Department, Alexey Sushkevich; and the Head of the Department for Control over the Authorities, Vladimir Mishelovin.

The parties discussed further steps for cooperation between FAS and OECD on competition policy and law in the course of Russia ascending OECD.

OECD representatives emphasized positive results of FAS cooperation with OECD experts in their work on preparing a Review of Russian competition law and policy as part of the Russian Federation ascending OECD. As a result, the parties reached an agreement about further cooperation in preparing the Review.

Igor Artemyev also discussed the latest trends in improving competition enforcement in Russia and current strategic steps towards developing competition.

“FAS is always ready for an open dialogue and cooperation with OECD. Direct communication facilitates better understanding of the nuances of Russian law, enforcement and national policy in this field by our foreign colleagues”, commented Deputy Head of FAS, Andrey Tsyganov.
