OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2013.  On January 14, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev met with Statoil delegation led by executive vice president Lars Christian Baker.

 Welcoming the guests, Mr. Abdullayev emphasized that SOCAR and Statoil have a 20-year useful cooperation. During the meeting, Mr. Abdullayev expressed confidence for successful continuation of cooperation between the two countries. According to him, 2013 is an important year in terms of expansion of the cooperation on several projects. Mr. Abdullayev gave detailed information on works carried out work within phases I and II of Shahdeniz field exploration. As he stated, Azerbaijani experts review all possible routes within the South Corridor project that considers transportation of the Caspian natural gas to Europe.

Expressing gratitude for reception, vice president of Statoil Lars Christian Baker noted that he visited Azerbaijan in October last year, and since then, a significant progress was made within projects Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and Shahdeniz. He expressed confidence in successful development of these projects and SOCAR’s future local and international projects.
