OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2013. Tele2, a European mobile operator, and major mobile phone retail Svyaznoy have announced that they will no longer charge any fee for mobile top-ups at payment terminals.

Starting from 1 January 2013, Tele2 subscribers will be able to refill their mobile accounts at payment terminals in Svyaznoy stores without commission, even if payment does not exceed 50 rubles.

Tele2 has become the only mobile operator in Russia whose subscribers will make commission-free payments at Svyaznoy terminals irrespective of a sum paid.

According to the Tele2 research, 52 percent of its subscribers use terminals to pay for mobile services. Sums below 50 rubles account for half of all transactions.

There are 3178 Svyaznoy stores in Russia equipped with payment terminals. New payment terms are effective for all Tele2 subscribers.

Inessa Galaktionova, Chief Commercial Officer at Tele2 Russia:

"Many Tele2 subscribers prefer to refill their accounts in small sums but do this quite often. By removing a fee for such a popular payment, Tele2 is seeking to meet its clients’ interests. We hope that this unique offer will make the use of Tele2 services even more convenient and cost-efficient”.
