OREANDA-NEWS. January 31, 2013. In 2013, Baltic International Bank celebrates 20 years in business.

In January 1993, the shareholders of the then-proposed Baltic International Bank started preparing the documents required to apply to the Bank of Latvia for a banking licence. At the time, BIB had been paving the path for its future success, developing its strategic plans and constantly generating new ambitious ideas for carving out its specific niche and for winning recognition despite the very fierce competition -- Latvia was the home for more than 50 banks in mid-1993.

Today, we see that Bank has originally taken steps in the right direction. Over the past twenty years, BIB’s asset base has increased manifold. Also, BIB has grown its headcount and raised the level of the personnel’s professional skills. BIB has expanded its business beyond Latvia and currently operates internationally, including Russia, Ukraine and the UK. We are the only bank having initially been targeted at providing top-quality bespoke banking to our customers and their family members and having strictly followed its once-chosen philosophy.

On 8 April 1993, the Bank of Latvia granted BIB a full-service banking licence. Because BIB was officially registered with the Companies Registry of the Republic of Latvia on 3 May 1993, therefore May 3rd was chosen as the day to celebrate Bank’s birthday.

In honour of its 20-year anniversary, BIB will use a special anniversary logo to commemorate twenty years of our remarkable bank-and-customer partnership. The logo will be used in BIB’s promotional materials and giveaways throughout 2013.
