OREANDA-NEWS.   The second annual Silver Archer award ceremony has taken place in Washington in National Press Club. Severstal, one of the world's leading vertically integrated steel and steel related-mining companies, was an official partner of the event.

The Silver Archer awards are aimed at improving Russian-American relations and promoting greater understanding of business and culture.

20 nominated projects across seven categories (Culture; Science and Education; Business; Technology; Innovation; Communications, and; Charity) were appraised by the judging panel. Award winners included: Music Olympus Foundation; Onexim Sports and Entertainment; Renova Group; Advita Fund USA, and; New Magazine.

The awards’ Advisory Board and judging panel also proposed a number of candidates for a special Achievement category. The Board and panel comprised representatives from Severstal; RIA Novosti; NordStream AG; LUKOIL Overseas; Rosgosstrakh; Transkore Group Inc.; Skolkovo Foundation; Moscow Lomonosov State University Center for the Development of Social Relations, and; Russia Beyond the Headlines, an international publishing project. Rinat Dosmukhamedov, a trade representative for Russia in the USA, was the winner in this special category.

Katya Pruett, Director of Public Relations and Communications at Severstal North America, who presented the award to Mr. Dosmukhamedov, commented: “The Silver Archer awards are contributing to improving the dialogue, understanding and relationship between Russia and America.”

Amongst others, the ceremony was also attended by: Oleg Burmistrov, Russia's Minister-Counselor in the USA; Yury Zaitsev, a representative of Rossotrudnichestvo in the USA, and; Derek Norberg, Director of the Russian-American Pacific Partnership.
