OREANDA-NEWS. February 08, 2013. TATNEFT Company announces a contest among professional artists of the Republic of Tatarstan dedicated to the 70-th anniversary of oil in Tatarstan, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

The works are accepted to participate in the contest in three categories: painting (narrative paintings telling about the history of crude oil production, portrait and epic landscape); graphics (genre, portrait) and arts and crafts.

The contest will be held in two stages. In the first stage (up to March 29 of the current year) schematic designs of works are accepted in the electronic form. The winners will be eligible to participate in the next stage and will be informed about it by the organizing committee before April 5.

The second stage will last until June 28 and the organizing committee will be accepting original works of art.

The works of the contest participants will be presented in a specially published catalogue and at the exhibition to be held in August-September 2013. The winners and prize nominees will be awarded cash prizes.

The goals pursued by the anniversary campaign include perpetual memorization of Petroleum pioneers; continuing the traditions of artists of the 1950s and 1960s; education of the younger generation in the spirit of interest and respect for the profession of an oilman; propaganda and demonstration of creative accomplishments of the professional artists of Tatarstan in portraying the history of crude oil production and today's realities.
