OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2013. This year the Organizing Committee received more than 100 entries from 31 cities of Russia. Most active in this year’s showing journalists from leading business publications from Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Samara and St. Petersburg, reported the press-centre of Citi.

The Citi Journalistic Excellence Award in Russia for Contributions to Sustainable Development has been awarded worldwide for over 20 years by Citi. The main purpose of the award is to assist the development of financial and business journalism. Over the years, award winners were more than 300 journalists from 37 countries. Professionals in the area of journalism from around the world annually awarded with a training course at the faculty of journalism at Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, they are take part in trainings and workshops acknowledged masters in the area of financial journalism, and have the opportunity to visit the major financial institutions and U.S. departments, including the New York Stock Exchange, Standard & Poor’s, Bloomberg Business News, Federal Reserve Bank and meet with the management of many of them.

Nominations of CJEA this year are: Small Business as a Key Factor in the Social-Economic Stability of Russia and Economics and Finance Benefiting People.

The Organizing Committee reminds that are accepted the articles of journalists, published in January 2013: permissible period of the publication are from January 1, 2012 to January 31, 2013. ‘I call on journalists to participate and submit their work. The application procedure for the qualifying round is very simple; to try himself at the winning the Grand Prix of the award can everyone who submitted an application for the competition,’ says Denis Denisov, Public Affairs Head at  Citibank.

The works submitted will be evaluated by an independent jury, which will select the 6 finalists. This year, as part of the judging committee will:

Voronenkov Yury, Executive director of the Financial Press Club of Russia, Deputy Head of the Analytical Center of the Russian Government.

Gavrilenko Anatoly, the Chairman of the Expert Group on Financial Education for Federal Financial Markets Service of Russia.

Gubeydullina Gyuzel, Financial journalist, founder and publisher of the portal Finparty.ru.

Guriev Sergey, Rector at the New Economic School.

Zassoursky Yasen, the President of the Moscow State University Journalism Faculty.

Medvedev Pavel, Adviser to the Chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

Murichev Alexander, Executive Vice President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Chairman of the Association of Regional Banks of Russia.

The finalist’s works of qualifying round will be transferred to Columbia Graduate School of Journalism to determine the two winners.
