OREANDA-NEWS. February 12, 2013. Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Valeriu Lazar has expressed satisfaction with the results of the Programme on Attracting Remittances into the Economy "PARE 1+1", thus the government contributing to invest remittances into business. During a today’s assessment conference, Valeriu Lazar said the programme will be extended by 2015 and eligibility criteria will be tightened.

In the pilot programme, the government offers the entrepreneurs, who use funds from remittances of the Moldovan migrants, a 50-per-cent-investment contribution, that led to the creation of 142 new companies. Lazar said he is waiting for suggestions on the programme’s improvement. He noted that starting with 2013, the government will give priority to the investment projects of the companies using modern technologies.

Lazar thanked the European Union for financial support in the investment project, noting that it will have a significant social resonance as successful history. Attending the event, the head of the EU Delegation to Moldova, Dirk Schuebel, said the EU is set to increase the amount of money, reaching 32 million lei in 2013.

The government offers subsidies to migrants returned from abroad or their relatives to set up companies in Moldova, in order to stem the emigration by creating new jobs and to invest remittances in business.
