OREANDA-NEWS. The first ever CIS and Baltic states route development training organized by ASM (Airport Strategy and Marketing) will take place in Saint Petersburg. It is symbolic that the location for the first ever CIS based training is St. Petersburg. Northern Capital Gateway LLC successfully implements project of Pulkovo Airport reconstruction and development. Within the framework of the project, the construction of the new terminal building with the capacity of 17 million passengers per year will be completed up to December 2013.

Following the result of last year Northern Capital Airport handled 11 154 560 passenger and once again was rated as the third biggest in Russia as to passenger flow. Further development of route network and attraction of new carriers is planned for 2013./p>

In summer 2013 Icelandair the flagship airline of Iceland will introduce its direct regular flights from St. Petersburg to Reykjavik. Since July 2013 one of the Ukraine leading air carriers – Ukraine International Airlines will start performance of scheduled flights to Kiev. Greek Aegean Airlines will perform flights to Thessaloniki, Rhodes and Heraklion. Number of flights to Thessaloniki will be increased up to 3 times in a week. In summer schedule 2013 the number of flights to Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don and Omsk as well as to Prague, Malta and Tel Aviv will be increased.

The Pulkovo Airport policy in terms of the route network expansion is being realized with an outlook for the next 5 years. One of the priorities is to introduce flights to USA and increase the number of flights to Southeast Asia.

The event hosts representatives of several countries and 10 different airports, including these one with which we do not have yet direct flight connection.
