OREANDA-NEWS. February 19, 2013. Under the framework of the Agreement on the Unified Principles and Competition Rules, the Russian Federation together with the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus and the Eurasian Economic Commission are undertaking efforts to draft the Model Law, which shall be adopted by 1st July 2013, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia. 

The Model Law is devised to harmonize the law of the member-states of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space on competition policy and approximate regulation of relations in the field of competition.

“Harmonization of the antimonopoly law is one of priority goals set for us by the heads of our countries establishing the Common Economic Space”, commented Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Andrey Tsyganov. “We are working out the problem together, publically discussing the provisions of the draft Model Law on Competition to use the best practices developed within the past twenty years”.
